Flooding!
Our usually tranquil little creek became a raging cauldron of water, mud and debris as the water levels swelled to record highs today.
v
Many roads were closed because of water running over them, which made it difficult to get to piano lessons, but we finally made it!
This creek is usually about ten FEET lower than in this picture! And the usual width is only about 3-4 feet!

A video shot of the creek.

Wow that's amazing...I guess the warmer temperatures we've been having lately turned all the snow and ice into water.

It is unbelievable how much it flooded by you guys. Now if only the temperature would drop you all would have an awesome ice rink!

Thanks for posting, it was neat to see.

Wow! We had that happen twice when we lived in TN. However, ours was a dry gully (the creek went underground right before our property) that would become a raging river (almost) :-)

We've got lots of water too. All the Newton County roads were closed yesterday. We had to do some of Grandpa's chores for him because he couldn't get through the water with his car.

Update: The flooding in nearby Watseka made national news and was declared a disaster area by the state and federal government. Hundreds had to leave their homes.
