Do you believe in ghosts? :o)

I finally got my first picture of lightning a few nights ago!
A milestone in my photography career! :o)

Guess who we're going to see this weekend?

An evening with the Sikmas...
-
Last night, we had some good friends over for a few hours. The parents went out to eat together, while we young folks stayed at the house and played some volleyball & table games.
-

If any of you have ever played the game "Sound Off" with a large group, you know how crazy it can get! Sometimes we were laughing so hard it was difficult to even act out the card in our hand.
-
Mindy and Chloe, enjoying their supper in the beautiful weather.
-
We pulled out the instruments for awhile too.
-
Here we are at that marvelous game, "Dutch Blitz"! Manners are not much considered... you have to just jump in for all you're worth or you're slaughtered. There were dozens of hands slapping and cards flying.
-
See what I mean?

Our "new" kitchen...
-
On Tuesday, our kitchen walls went from a dull peachy/tan to a sunny yellow! The paint job, combined with a fresh blue checkered curtain and a good all around scrubbing, gave us our "new" kitchen.
What a difference a little elbow grease and a can of paint will make!

Some outdoor snapshots from around our property

A mother mourning dove carefully guards her eggs

Ah yes, the weed of all time!

The little corn shoots are just starting to poke up through the ground!

The farmer swerved a little while planting! :o)

Our local granary...notice the corn pile on the right...the small black edge around the bottom is taller than a big pick-up truck! Big pile of corn!

A moth that decided my woodshop door was the perfect place to lay her eggs. She had an impressive wingspan that was over 5 inches long!

Birthday Duet
-
Molly and Aiden are 3 days shy of being 1 year apart, so usually we celebrate their birthdays on the same day. This year there was talk many days in advance of what their choice of supper and dessert was.... it was so cute to watch all the "plans in progress".
-
Happy birthday, Molly and Aiden!

Mama's Visit
-
Our sweet grandmother, known to us as "Mama" came to visit us for two weeks, recently.
As always, we enjoyed seeing and spending time with her.
We thank the Lord for you, Mama! Love you "muchly"!

Eli and Mama, before church on Sunday.

Connor was being a ham, hiding behind the dining room curtain. He got a kick out of Mama pulling the curtain back!

Van Washing
-
We're privileged to have the best van washer in the state residing in our own home! He did a great job getting our 15-passenger all washed and cleaned up, this afternoon. From the soapy water to the hose, this was quite the chore. Thank you, Eli, for your hard work!

A day with friends
-
Liz and Alexandra on Buddy and Firebird....
-
Luke, being a clown on Firebird...

Speaking of clowns.....

Liz, proving that you don't have to look "tough" while you are holding a gun :o)

Watch out for these girls! They picked off some pretty small targets with these guns!

Lizzy preparing Buddy to ride.....

Awww! New kittens!
(Ok, so I wasn't thrilled with the kittens, but Emily and Adrianna were!)

Eli and Levi on the four wheeler....

One sweet gun!

Kaity and Liz
