Christmas Day at the McDonnell Household

After the endless waiting for Dad and Mom to give the word for the kids to come downstairs, we gather together and read Luke 2.  (We read Luke 1 on Christmas Eve)  Then we have the gift exchange, and let me tell you, it is a major operation when you have 17 people in the family! :o)

Emmy and Kait...

You've got to love the amazingly sylish outfit that this cowboy has on...

I thought this note that I got in a gift was pretty cute.  Mom said that next year, we need to just give out spelling and vocabulary books for presents! :o)

Grandpa and Emily Marie...

Brent and his pink BB gun!  Actually, Molly received the BB gun, and was so thrilled, that she got an older brother to shoot it with her that very afternoon!

Anna and Mindy...

A.J. is going to learn a musical instrument now that Mom and Dad bought him this very nice guitar.

Yes, every boy needs at least one toy tractor.

What could it be?

I love this little guy!

Mom can make the best cinnamon rolls and this year, she also made some yummy honey rolls.

Emily Marie didn't quite know what to make of the ordered confusion...

Luke and Emmy...

Kaitlyn made this beautiful cross stitch for Mom...

Mom and Dad bought some neat personalized aprons for us.

The Von Trapp family......cooks? :o)

Lizzy and Emily got Princess Pies aprons for their holiday dessert business.

Kaity didn't get an apron, but we let her hop in the picture anyway.  We are so generous!

Dad and two of his gorgeous daughters.

Christmas Fun

After caroling to neighbors and friends, we had a fun game night with the carolers and the Phillips family.

We learned a neat game to play with scrabble pieces.  Adrianna and I won...thank you, thank you, yes, we were amazing. :o)

Matt and his zebra striped Santa hat...

Micah looks for the humor in the game of "Apples to Apples"

Rick, Levi and Reid ponder over an action card...

Cranium!

Luke snapped some pics while we were playing.
