The Wilds Music Conference

I am working on editing the many pictures from the wonderful week we had at The Wilds Music Conference and I chose a few favorites to share with you all.  God was truly glorified in all the music, messages and workshops that were presented there and we all came away with much to think about.

I do not have any pictures of the many sessions and study groups due to the fact that I didn't want to be rude, but here are some pictures from the activities and travel.

I learned how to play the game of Parcheesi on the way to NC.  Unfortunately, my little blue elephants did not take first place, but they came in second!

Louisville
The 65 foot swing was a serious thrill on the first drop. (Luke Freeman did a great job using my camera to get this shot.)

Jessie

Reid and Luke on the giant swing.

Katie and Anna looked like pros on the swing.

Alyssa and Emily teamed up for the swing.

Anna and Katie

David, on the land trolley.

Willie and Matt performed several hilarious skits including this one about a cooking show.

Pictures in front of the 2nd waterfall.

Emily and Cindy

The scenery was breathtaking for a guy who has lived most of his life in the ever flat Midwest.

Caleb

Our whole "group" minus Bro. Garcia.

The Walsh family members.

Luke made the cable walk look easy!

Teamwork was required to get past this obstacle.

Reid was able to get up the wall with no assistance, then he helped get the rest of our group over.

Our entire group on the last day at the camp.

Thank you everyone who helped make this such a great time together, as we fellowshiped and learned how to praise our God even better through music and song.

--God has given Jack, Emily and I the opportunity to be a part of a string orchestra that has just come together this year.
There are fourteen young people in Savos Strings (twelve of whom are pictured above) whose ages range from 23 to 13. --

--Our first concert is coming up soon, on December 5th. We'll be playing Christmas carols in the Tippecanoe Mall in Lafayette, IN --

--The word "Savos" means Saved --

--Updates will be put on the Savos Strings blog. So be sure to check it out, and leave a comment to let us know what you think--

--Our Christmas concert has 12 selections which include, seven orchestra pieces, three string quintets, and two piano duets--

--Ten out of the fourteen members of our group are also pianists--

--It's really amazing the way that God has allowed us to come together as a group. At the beginning of this year, I only knew five of the people who are now involved in this project. (And two of those five are my own siblings)--

--It's been so much fun getting to know everyone as we rehearse each month--

--We're looking forward to performing together throughout 2010. I can hardly wait to see what God is going to do with Savos Strings! --
