Midwest Skyfest 2010!
Some of the girls with our fearless leader, Cathy Hornickel.
I got to be the bunny/clown for the first day and some of the second. You wouldn't believe how many little kids love to hug and take pictures with a six foot bunny!
Emily wore a few different outfits, including this ant.
Sid the sloth was played by Lexi...
This event would not have been possible without the great group of young people that pitched in. What an awesome team!
Lumberjack show!
The hot air balloons were really neat to watch as they floated up into the sky.
Spotlight crew, waiting to work their magic.
You've just got to love this outfit! Rick was 10' 6" tall in this picture.
Lizzy and Nikki
The aviator sunglasses were a big hit.
Reid played Tigger because that was the only outfit that his tall body would fit in. :o) And I will add that he did a great job as Tigger!
Alyssa took over the bunny clown part way through the second day and the little kids loved playing around with her.
The guys loved trying out their flying skills on the flight simulators.
An unusual view of the hot air balloon
Eli, doing a great job running the Skyfest gear tent.
An 18 million btu flame thrower provided the lift for this balloon.
The Lord blessed with two gorgeous days in a row for the Skyfest.
It ended with a great fireworks show to seal the deal!

Please do tell me that those "bug-ish" sunglasses were just the costume for the day and not a new McDonnell fad?! And Rick's costume, I won't comment on that one! :)
The hot air balloon pictures are GREAT--very nicely done! Did any of you get to go up in a balloon?
Now that there is a post there it really is a neat post. :) Earlier it was just blank.
You are right Rhonda, the post was blank earlier due to a "bug" in blogger.
Amanda, I know you loved it, due to the fact that you made a very good mascot!
And Karisse, no, the glasses are not a "McDonnell" thing, they are "aviator style" glasses, so they were fitting for a Skyfest.
As to Rick's costume, I told him that from now on, if anyone asks what he is like, I am going to show them that pic! ;o)
And no, unfortunately none of us went up in the balloon, we were all pretty busy working all day.
hey, why aren't I in the group pic. I see how it is...leave out the guy that does all the work...just kidding. Skyfest was a total blast!
Notice that Lizzy, Stephen, Brianna, your mom, your dad, your aunt, Christian, Alexis and myself weren't in the group picture either. ;o)
Seriously though, I was noticing that I had barely any pictures of you or Matt from the two days, due to the fact that you both were working so hard to make Skyfest a success. That is worth a lot in itself!
I LOVE! those glasses.
I wasn't in the group picture either.
Oh Well.
That was so much FUN!
And it was also so TIRING!
Looks like a fun day! I have always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon!
I must say those fireworks in that one shot look terrific.
I shoot some fireworks shows with my dad for a professional company, like the one that did these fireworks.
They look amazing!

Here, take a look. I went with my dad to Indiana a few weeks ago to help setup and shoot this fireworks show for their annual Blueberry Festival in Plymouth, Indiana. This video is of the last 3 minutes of the show, the best part in my opinion. :)
Enjoy!
